The Fazenda Recreio has been owned by the same family since 1890, when it came into the possession of Mrs Ignez Bernardina da Silva Dias, a young widow with four children, who began to plant coffee there in 1891. The first crop was harvested in 1893. Handed down through generations, it is now managed by Diogo Dias, and the benefits of family handling are plain to see, with the farm winning multiple awards over the years. The farm spans 605ha, with 240ha given over to coffee. The remainder hosts cattle, and grows eucalyptus and citrus fruits.
This coffee is a mix of the best varietals grown by the Dias family, they're processed on site in their wet mill which was installed in 2009.
