The coffee producers are located in Santa Barbara mountain, near Yojoa Lake (the only lake in Honduras). The farms are located between these two places giving a special microclimate for the coffee plants, allowing a very consistent cup profile. Right here, in the high part, the most famous Honduran specialty coffee is cultivated, principally the Cup of Excellence winners.

10 producers from the Santa Barbara mountain contributed to this lot and for all of them, this is their first time producing either separated specialty lots, or processing naturals. When a producer tries something for the first time and changes what they’ve done previously, it can be a risk. By blending these lots together Beneficio San Vicente has been able to mitigate that risk for the producers involved and created a coffee with lots of value for potential customers. A throwback natural, this lot is all candy and sweet with less funk than you’d expect. We’ll be sure to keep reaching out to these producers.
