Gone are the days of quietly saying 'decaf' while avoiding eye contact at the counter. The Condor is a Colombian single origin grown on the face of an ancient volcano they call ‘Black Mountain’, not only does it sound dramatic, this coffee has a real story worthy of a novel. Filter or espresso, it handles both, and yes, that includes the 2am brew. Roasted to order at our Herne Hill roastery.

Origin Story

The farms agricultural journey began in 1995, and in 2010 they started cultivating coffee at El Vergel Estate in Tolima. By 2015, they had successfully harvested their first varietals.

In 2017, after facing challenges in the local market, the farmers, Martha, Shady, and Elias set out to find innovative ways to add value to their coffees and close the gap between producers and roasters.

Sourced through Forest Coffee who were founded in 2019 with a vision to unlock the true potential of Colombian coffee through innovation in processing, education, and sustainability. Their mission is to connect coffee growers directly with international markets, ensuring fair pricing and full transparency.

The Process

The process begins with special fermentation to extract unique flavours. The caffeine extraction involves circular containers filled with a blend of water and ethyl acetate, lowering caffeine levels to 0.1%. The outcome is a smooth, flavourful, and highly enjoyable coffee.
