At our Herne Hill roastery, coffee is only half the story, the real magic comes from the people behind it. From sourcing and roasting to delivering and sharing our coffee with the community, every member of the Press Coffee London team plays a vital role.
We thought it was time you got to know the faces and personalities behind your daily brew. So here’s a little introduction to the team!
Founders & Owners: Andy & Nelly
Husband and Wife - the heart of Press Coffee London, Andy and Nelly built the roastery from the ground up with a passion for great coffee and community.
What they do:
Keep the ship moving in the right direction, stay true to what Press is about, and quietly obsess over making things better.
Favourite coffee and place to drink it:
Andy - A Black Filter, in the car on the way to the golf course ⛳
Head of Operations: Captain Jack 🫡
If something’s happening, Jack probably made it happen.

What he does:
Keeps the wheels turning, the coffee moving, and the chaos… manageable.
Go-to coffee:
Natural Filter from Yirgacheffe.
Known for:
Coming in too early!
Head of Coffee: Ross
The one making sure what’s in the bag is actually worth talking about 💪

What he does:
Sources, tastes, tweaks and then does it all again.
Favourite origin:
Uganda.
Known For:
Staying too late!
Wholesale & Accounts: David
The friendly bridge between us and the people serving our coffee out in the wild.

What he does:
Keeps relationships strong and coffee flowing to our partners.
Favourite time to have a coffee:
Mornings at home on the weekend.
Fun fact:
Has a black belt in Judo 🥷
Marketing: Chris
If you’ve seen it, read it, or liked it, Chris probably had something to do with it.
What he does:
Tells our story and keeps things looking sharp 📸

Iced Oat Latte.
Favourite coffee shop:
Tiny one man café in Chumphon Thailand.
Admin & Roastery Assistant: Olivia
Part organisation, part hands-on.

What she does:
Keeps things ticking behind the scenes and on the roastery floor.
Favourite coffee:
Black Filter in winter & Cold Brew in summer.
Favourite sipping spot:
While basking in the sun at Brockwell lido 🏊
Driver & Roastery Assistant: Alex
Usually found cruising around the city with a van full of coffee.

What she does:
Delivers the goods and jumps into roastery life in between runs 🚚

Wakuli Coffee Amsterdam.

Production Roasters: Jake & Roberto 🧑🤝🧑
Better known as Bob and Bobby - The ones turning green beans into something worth waking up for.

What they do:
Carefully roasting batches on our 30kg and jumping in on all things packing.
Favourite origin:
Jake - Columbia.
Roberto - Ethiopia.
Roasting soundtrack:
Jake - Rory Gallagher.
Roberto - Veridis Quo, Daft Punk & French House.
Roastery Assistants: Rodrigo, Jess, Lydia and Matt
The engine room, keeping everything moving, packed, and dialled 💓
What they do:
Bagging, prepping, checking, lifting, shifting, basically making sure nothing falls apart.
Coffee picks and fun facts:

Rodrigo: Loves a Press Blend Flat White & worked in a circus for 13 years as a Dancer.

Jess: Is currently loving 'Dragon Ball' From UKE Coffee.

Lydia: Often can't decide between a Long black, Mocha or Cold Brew!
Matt: Prefers Matcha 💚
Head of Morale: Dustin & Sandy 🐾
What they do:
Wander the roastery office, demand attention, accept snacks, and generally keep spirits high.
Favourite spot in the roastery:
Sandy - Curled up on a coffee sack in a quite corner 💤
Dustin - In Andy's shadow.
The Whole Point
We’re just people who like good coffee, done simply, done well.
No unnecessary noise and no overcomplication. Just a team that cares about what goes into the bag and the people who end up drinking it.
